Gingitsune is about Makoto , the daughter of a shrine priest who can see the shrine's messenger, Gintaro. It follows the everyday lives of the two world for the gods and humans.
When Makoto was a child her mother died and she inherited a gift called The Sight, allowing her to see the Shrine's Heralds. She met the messenger of the god Inari, a fox named Gintaro. Gintaro can see the future and can find lost things. He sometimes was rude and unmotivated, but still had a good friendship with Makoto Saeki. Both of them decide to be a go-between for the gods and humans as they try to help those who come to the shrine. She becomes friends with Satoru Kamio, Haru, Yumi Ikegami and Hiwako Funabashi.
